Thought this could be a thread where we could post various bits of breaking news about our favorite shows, ie schedule changes, cast changes, new shows...so on.
I'll start
Dollhouse (Joss Whedon new SCi-Fi drama) is set to premier in Janurary, I can't wait!
Unfortunately 24 and AI are coming back which screws up the fox line up. Terminator is being moved to the death slot of Fridays which will be airing before Dollhouse on the same night and channel (way to give dollhouse a chance), and Bones is being moved to Thursday nights. House will move to Monday nights. Fringe will stay on Tuesday nights.
And Dirty Sexy money, My Own Worst Enemy, Eli Stone and Pushing Daises being canceled for next season
NBC's new shows include So You Think You Can Dance boss Nigel Lythgoe's "Superstars of the Dance" — fancied as an internationally flavored "Olympic dance-off" and hosted by Michael Flatley — which premieres Sunday, Jan. 9, before moving to Mondays. There, it will air for several weeks from 8 to 10 pm/ET, bumping both Chuck and Heroes (but only until February arrives).
Superstars leads into Momma's Boys, a new unscripted series from Ryan Seacrest.
Friday Night Lights (for those without direct TV) will be start it's 3rd season on Friday Jan. 16.
The CW has cancelled Valentine and will replace it with Jerico reruns Reaper will be back in early 2009
ABC has announced Tuesday, Jan. 6 as the premiere date for Scrubs (which previously aired on NBC)
In other ABC scheduling news, Life on Mars is getting moved to Wednesdays at 10 — where it will lead out of Lost (starting Jan. 28, Mars' next fresh outing). In doing so, the Thursdays-at-10 slot will be freed up for Private Practice, which will air immediately after its mother show, Grey's Anatomy starting Jan. 8.
Project Runway will be moving to Lifetime from it's previous network Bravo,if it can get past some legal issues, till then looks like the 6th season may be delayed.

'ER' Finale Date Set; NBC Prepping 'Kings,' More For Mid-Season By Access Hollywood 26 minutes ago
John Stamos On ER NBCAccess Hollywood LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- After saving thousands of TV lives, there'll be no resuscitation for "ER."
The 15-season medical drama will breathe its last breath on March 12, 2009, Access Hollywood has learned.
NBC will replace it with "Kings," a much-anticipated series chronicling the life of King David in modern times, starting March 19.
As for the rest of the schedule, "Heroes" will launch its next installment, "Fugitives," on February 2, which also marks the return of supernatural drama "Medium." And "The Office" will get a Super-sized return on February 1, when it airs a one-hour episode following the Super Bowl. "Life" and "Chuck" will also be back.
A pair of previously announced mid-season series -- an untitled Amy Poehler show from the makers of "The Office" and "The Philanthropist" -- have yet to be announced.
However, "Knight Rider" won't drive out its full season, ending early at 17 episodes and wrapping up with a February 25 season finale.

Gossip Girl Spinoff Now in the WorksBy Us Magazine 12 minutes ago
Us Magazine Attention Upper East Siders! If you're a Gossip Girl fan, you might have another show to put on your DVR list next season. The CW might use an upcoming episode of the hit show later this year to test out a spinoff.
According to Variety, one of this season's shows will double as a backdoor pilot, a move that would allow the network to gauge viewer interest before putting down huge production costs on a full-on pilot. Gossip Girl, now in its second season, was created by The O.C.'s Josh Schwartz.!
Rumors about the companion show have been circulating, especially because Alloy Entertainment's Gossip Girl book series -- from which the TV show is based -- already has a spinoff novel called The It Girl.
So which Gossip Girl -- or boy -- will move on to the new show?
Sources claim that the possible series won't be based on the book's spinoff, which put the spotlight on Taylor Momsen's character, Jenny Humphrey.
The new show, which is still yet to be named, will likely center around one of the show's nine main characters, played by the likes of Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick, Penn Badgley and Chace Crawford. But there's always a chance a new character will be added to the mix for the purpose of the new series, which is still in very early stages of development.

This is the last season of Prison Break .. If they can end it right and on a good note then I suppose i'll be alright. I hoped for another season but oh well. Hmmm Wentworth needs to get cast on another show so I can still look at him every week.
Quote :
Prison Break Is Ending Today 10:03 AM PST by Kristin Dos Santos
C. Hodes / Fox It's official. Prison Break is coming to an end.
"Prison Break had a hell of a run, but the run has ended," Fox president Kevin Reilly just told reporters at the TV Critics Press Tour. "This will be the last year of the show."
The news was somewhat expected, given the four-year-old series' downturn in the ratings this season. However, according to Reilly, the decision was made from a creative standpoint. "The show has just played out. You get to a point creatively where you feel all the stories have been told, and you want to end strong and not gimp out in the end of the season."
So exactly how many more episodes will we get? And what about a movie?
"We've got our remaining batch of four episodes, and there are a couple more they're contemplating."
Those "couple more" hours could possibly be presented as a TV movie, as Fox did with 24 earlier in the season with 24: Redemption.
"It just got down to the point where a lot of the stories have been told, but they'll go out strong," Reilly told reporters.
I asked Reilly if producers have a specific game plan for the end, and he replied: "They have a really cool ending, actually. I know where they end, and it's a hell of an idea."
Meanwhile, good news for Fringe fans: Reilly said he has no plans to pull the plug. "It's a keeper," Reilly told reporters. "I don't think there was a tougher time period than Tuesdays at 9 p.m. Even though Fringe had a lead-in, they had to perform every week—and they did. If you follow the show week to week, you won’t be disappointed."

ABC Puts Ugly Betty on Hold By Kristin Dos Santos Mon Jan 26, 12:42 PM PST
America Ferrera was all smiles on yesterday's SAGs red carpet—perhaps because she didn't know the Ugly plans ABC had in store for her show. (Or, you know, perhaps because she was nominated and looked hot as fire.)
In a surprising move, ABC just announced that its former comedic golden child, Ugly Betty, will be shelved on March 26 in order to bring back Christina Applegate's Samantha Who? and launch a new comedy called In the Motherhood, starring Megan Mullally and Cheryl Hines, in the Thursday 8 p.m. slot.
ABC President Steve McPherson's nostalgic favorite (and old stomping ground) Scrubs and another new comedy, Better Off Ted (Portia de Rossi, Jay Harrington), will take the hour-long block starting Wednesdays at 8 p.m. (The former home of the dearly departing Pushing Daisies.)
So why is one of ABC's highest-profile shows getting a time-out? And what does America have to say?
According to ABC insiders, the Alphabet net is looking at more of a cable model when it comes to its programming and scheduling. "McPherson is interested in reducing the number of reruns," one well-placed insider tells me, adding that Betty—after its dip in the ratings this season—seemed the best place to slot in Samantha and Motherhood.
Betty had an audience of about 8 million at the start of the current third season, but then consistently lost about a million viewers each week, sinking as low as 3.6 million. This month, it jumped back up to 7.5 million, but that's still shy of last year's audience of 9 million viewers.
Meanwhile, yesterday on the SAG carpet, Ferrera told us everything is going well on her three-year-old series and teased this about what lies ahead: "Someone turns very evil—an unexpected person. Like, just your general backstabbing and lies. Just another day on Ugly Betty!"
Sources also tell me there'll be a love connection between a main character on Betty and someone we know and love from a Showtime series we know and love. Stay tuned to the Spoiler Chat later today for the scoop.

Eric McCormack is returning to network TV in a comedy pilot at ABC -- which probably means bad news for his cable dramedy, TNT's "Trust Me."
He's the headliner in the latest round of pilot casting at the Alphabet, which also includes Freddie Prinze Jr. joining "No Heroics," Lindsay Sloane in the comedy "Pulling" and Holly Robinson Peete and Josh Braaten joining Lauren Graham in "The Bridget Show."
McCormack will play one of the leads in an untitled comedy from "Scrubs" writer Tad Quill, the Hollywood Reporter says. The "Will & Grace" star will play a doctor who just had a baby. Reno Wilson ("Heist," "Blind Justice") will play the other lead, a close friend of McCormack's who's in a very different place in his life: His kids have just moved out. The cast will also include Jolie Jenkins and Constance Zimmer ("Entourage") as McCormack's and Wilson's wives.
The casting of McCormack will technically take second priority to "Trust Me," but the TNT show, which has attracted only so-so ratings, isn't expected to earn a second season.
"No Heroics" is based on a British show about a group of B-list superheroes (Paul Campbell, Arielle Kebbel, Eliza Coupe). Prinze, in what would be his first series since "Freddie" in 2005-06, will play their nemesis, a smug hero who gets all the attention.
"Pulling" is also based on a British series and follows a woman (Sloane, "The TV Set," "Grosse Pointe") who breaks up with her fiance right before their wedding and moves in with two single friends. Mary Elizabeth Ellis ("It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia") will play one of Sloane's new roommates, and Charlie Finn ("Help Me Help You") will play the fiance.
"The Bridget Show" (formerly "Let It Go") stars Graham as a TV relationship guru who leaves her show to be with a man and, after being dumped a few years later, tries to mount a comeback. Peete ("Like Family") will play a therapist who takes over Bridget's show and becomes a star in her own right, and Braaten ("Semi-Pro") will play the brother of the guy who dumped Bridget.

Winter, spring, summer, fall, it's pilot season and David Silver is keepin' it together.
Though the "Beverly Hills 90210" vet is currently a regular on FOX's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," The CW confirms that Brian Austin Green has just secured a role in their "Body Politic" project.
The series, if green lit, will follow young government staffers living and working in Washington, D.C.
Green will play Lucky, a D.C. insider who knows everyone in town.
The notorious BAG is just one of several names already attached to "Politic" including Gabrielle Union, Tim Matheson, "Friday Night Lights"' Minka Kelly, "Veronica Mars"' Jason Dohring and "Six Degrees"' Jay Hernandez.
So, does this mean Silverado will never return to Beverly Hills for an appearance as Donna Martin's loving husband on the new "90210"? Not really. He told me he is down and could easily do both.
More importantly for "Terminator" fans, does Green's "Politic" casting signal that the fate of "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" is sealed? Not necessarily. No doubt BAG's involvement in "Politic" is in second position to "T:TSCC," meaning that if "T:TSCC" gets another season, that would be his first priority. Still, the fact that he's looking around is not a good sign for the FOX show.
No word yet on whether BAG will bless us with a couple killer West Bev spin moves on any of his current or future projects...

Kiefer Sutherland will be back to play Jack Bauer for an eighth season of the hit counterterrorism drama “24,” but the show’s longevity will depend on its writers, the actor said Tuesday.
The 42-year-old told The Associated Press that “24,” currently in its seventh season, will start shooting its eighth in May. He spoke during an interview in Hong Kong to promote the new 3-D animated movie “Monsters vs. Aliens,” in which he voices the character of General W.R. Monger.
Sutherland, whose gritty portrayal of the counterterrorism agent has made Bauer an iconic character, said he’s committed to the show that’s revived his career. “If I was going to liken ‘24’ to a girlfriend, ‘24’ has been really good to me. And I need to be really good back,” Sutherland said.
“There are plays I want to do. There are so many different things I would like to do, but I was so fortunate to be part of something like ‘24’ that my focus is still on that right now,” he said.
Sutherland said the show’s future also hinges on its writers’ ability to shape its story.
“The real pressure is placed on the writers. It’s a real question about how much they feel they can give and what they can do,” he said.
Sutherland, whose movie credits include “Young Guns” and “A Few Good Men,” said he hasn’t thought much about his career after “24” and isn’t worried about being typecast as a Bauer-like government agent.
“I will do the work I want to do and people can accept it or not,” he said.
Working as a voice actor on “Monsters vs. Aliens” was a “fantastic counterbalance” to playing Bauer, he said.
“The relief was unbelievable. For five days a week, 14 hours a day, I’m doing Jack Bauer on ‘24’ and then for five hours on the weekend, I got to kind of proverbially let my hair down and play this character and talk like that and be a kid. I felt like a 5-year-old,” said Sutherland, simulating the deep, raspy voice of his character.
“Monsters vs. Aliens,” which is about a jailed group of monsters who are freed to help battle an alien robot, opens in U.S. theaters on Friday.

Fox's official plan for the 2009-10 TV season includes good news for House and Bones fans: The two popular series are staying put on their respective nights. They'll also boost two returning freshman series: Tim Roth's Lie to Me has scored the plum après-House berth on Monday, while Fringe will lead out of Bones on Thursday.
Dollhouse will remain in the Fridays-at-9 pm slot, where its new lead-in will be a pair of live-action comedies — Brothers, starring former NFL star Michael Strahan, and [groan] 'Til Death.
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has officially been powered down. Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly tells TVGuide.com that no matter how well Christian Bale's Terminator Salvation theatrical release does, the TV series will not be baaaack.
On the reality front, So You Think You Can Dance enthusiasts can do a little jig to celebrate the fact that not long after the show's about-to-launch summer season ends, a fall edition will kick up its heels, airing on Tuesday (with a two-hour performance show) and Wednesday. Kevin Reilly says that the intent is to mirror the network's midseason lineup, when American Idol enters the mix.
Wanda Sykes will host a late-night roundtable talk show airing Saturdays at 11 pm.
Among Fox's new offerings, Glee — which gets sneak-peeked this Tuesday, following American Idol's Adam-Kris sing-off — will air on Wednesday, leading out of Dance's results show. The Family Guy spinoff The Cleveland Show will call Sunday-at-8:30 pm home.
Premiering midseason will be Past Life (a reincarnation-tinged thriller series airing Tuesdays at 9 pm), Human Target (with Mark Valley as an elite bodyguard, replacing Glee on Wednesdays) and the comedy Sons of Tucson (starring Tyler Labine and targeted for Sundays).

Fall TV: ABC OKs Six New Shows Starring Familiar Faces:

ABC greenlit a half-dozen new series on Friday, bringing the network's total of newcomers for the 2009-10 TV season to eight.
In addition to the previously ordered comedy Modern Family and the action-drama Flash Forward, here is what else is new to ABC's schedule:
* The Forgotten: Uberproducer Jerry Bruckheimer's first series for the Alphabet network revolves around a group of amateur detectives, 24 alum Reiko Aylesworth included. * Eastwick: Inspired by The Witches of Eastwick, it stars Rebecca Romjin, Jaime Ray Newman and Lindsay Price as saucy sorceresses. * Happy Town: The murder mystery's ensemble includes Amy Acker and Geoff Stults. * Cougar Town: Courteney Cox Arquette is a hot single mom, Josh Hopkins her neighbor. At this time, it is unclear if Cougar Town is driving distance from Happy Town. (Boomtown, however, is definitely a train ride.) * Hank: A comedy fronted by no less than Frasier Crane himself, Kelsey Grammer. * The Middle: This dysfunctional family comedy, previously developed around Ricki Lake, now stars Patricia Heaton.
ABC is still in talks to pick up the V remake and The Associates, though the latter (a legal drama) would likely get an abbreviated order and air midseason.

ABC will launch three new dramas and four comedies in the fall, including an entirely new -- and risky -- lineup of shows on Wednesday.
New comedies starring Kelsey Grammer (Hank) and Patricia Heaton (The Middle) will lead off Wednesday, followed by laughers featuring Ed O'Neill (Modern Family) and Courteney Cox (Cougar Town) starting at 9 p.m. ET. The new drama Eastwick -- a new take on the John Updike tome The Witches of Eastwick -- will air in the 10 p.m. slot. "We really wanted to get back to family comedies," explains Stephen McPherson, ABC's entertainment president, of the 2-hour comedy block. "We needed the next generation."
The new crime drama Forgotten airs at 10 p.m. on Tuesdays behind Dancing With the Stars. Ugly Betty moves to Fridays at 9 p.m., behind Supernanny, and the new Flash Forward -- a high-concept drama about the aftermath of a 2-minute blackout -- leads off Thursdays. A reality show from Mark Burnett called Shark Tank bows on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. (though it'll get an early launch this summer after the 10th anniversary of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire). Scrubs and the sophomore show Better Off Ted will air on Tuesdays after Dancing With the Stars completes its fall run in November.
Gone is In the Motherhood, The Unusuals, According to Jim, Cupid, and Samantha Who?. "I feel really responsible for that show," concedes McPherson of the fledging sophomore laugher. "Christina Applegate is a giant TV star. It was really frustrating. It launched well but ran out of steam."
Midseason dramas include legal series The Deep End and V, a re-imagining of the miniseries about the world's encounter with aliens. As for the new comedies, Hank's about a powerful CEO-cum-family man who loses his job; The Middle is about a blue-collar family in the midwest; Cougar Town is about a divorced mom living with her teenager; and Modern Family focuses on several crazy clans.
Shark Tank gives would-be entrepreneurs a chance to turn their inventions into reality.
ABC's fall primetime schedule:
MONDAY
8:00 p.m. Dancing With the Stars 10:00 p.m. Castle
TUESDAY
8:00 p.m. Shark Tank 9:00 p.m. Dancing With the Stars the Results Show 10:00 p.m. The Forgotten
WEDNESDAY
8:00 p.m. Hank 8:30 p.m. The Middle 9:00 p.m. Modern Family 9:30 p.m. Cougar Town 10:00 p.m. Eastwick
The Bachelor will air Monday nights from 8:00-10:00 p.m. following the run of Dancing With the Stars, and Scrubs and Better Off Ted will air at 9:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., respectively, following the run of Dancing with the Stars The Results Show.

The CW will not be renewing Privileged for a second season. There was talk of a possible midseason berth for the much-loved dramedy, but, ultimately, the show was a casualty of the network's strong development. Hereo's News
Quote :
Season four of Heroes begins filming next Monday, and the cast of guest stars is beginning to fill out. Along with returning regulars, like Star Trek's Zachary Quinto, Volume Five: Redemption will include a new villain and a new friend for Hayden Panettiere's wayward Claire.
Who are these new characters, and what is the setting for season four? Here's what we know:
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Prison Break's Robert Knepper (aka creepmaster T-Bag) will be playing Samuel, a charismatic fellow with a knack for mischief. For at least six episodes, Knepper's Samuel will be the key figure in the death carnival, the primary new setting and storyline for season four. (Because as anyone who's ever dipped a toe in contemporary popular media knows, there's nothing more evil than traveling carnies and their rictus-faced clown friends.)
Also on deck for Heroes season four is Madeline Zima, whose life this summer will be intercutting between Californication, where she plays cerebral tease Mia, and the environs of fictional Costa Verde, Calif., where she will be in college with Claire. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Zima's Heroes character, Gretchen, is "an edgy outsider."
In other news, look for the casting later this month of new character Emma, who is hot, hearing impaired and smart. Emma will first appear in episode three and recur throughout the volume. She is expected to be a new love interest for Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia). Masi Oka's Hiro Nakamura will also be a major focus of Volume Four, as he works to undo some of the damage done to his life since the eclipse unleashed his powers.
